Description

The G-Plate plate-type heat exchanger consists of a
number of embossed and sealed plates. Depending on the application, all cold-drawing materials, such as:

  • Stainless steel
  • Nickel alloys
  • Titanium
  • 254 SMO
  • Hastelloy

and other materials are can be used, to name only a few. The plates are mounted between the upper and lower guide rail and clamped between the two frame platesy bolts.The seals are elastomers used as required by temperature, pressure and the chemical properties of the two media, e.g.:

  • NBR
  • EPDM
  • FKM (Viton), etc

and other sealing materials.
Mixing of the two media in case of defective seal is prevented by double seals at the transition openings and the leakage space in-between, which is open to the outside. Any leak will be detected from outside immediately before the two media have a chance of mixing through the seal.

Materiales de construcción

Todas las zonas en contacto con el producto (tubo interior y codos) son fabricadas en acero inoxidable AISI-316L. Aceros Dúplex también son disponibles si es necesario manejar fluidos corrosivos.

El lado de servicio está construido en acero inoxidable AISI-304, aunque también se puede emplear AISI- 316L si se desea.

Las restantes zonas del intercambiador sin contacto con los fluidos son de acero inoxidable AISI-304.

Las juntas tóricas y las juntas de las conexiones se fabrican normalmente en silicona, si bien se emplean otros elastómeros cuando los fluidos y/o la aplicación así lo demandan. Materiales alternativos tanto para el tubo exterior como interior son disponibles bajo consulta.

Conexiones

Para agilizar y flexibilizar la instalación e inspección de las unidades, los Intercambiadores XTube® Multitube incorporan conexiones “clamp” según los estándares ISO.

En caso de demanda se suministran las contra-conexiones, abrazaderas y juntas de goma para poder completar la conexión de intercambiador con las tuberías de entrada y salida de los fluidos al intercambiador.

Special types of G-Plate

  • G-Plate-Free-flow.

    Plate heat exchangers whose large spacing between plates (without points of contact) allows processing fluids with particles.

 

  • The G-Plate-DW (“Double-wall”)

    Is a safety plate-type heat exchanger which prevents the mixing of media due to cracks or corrosion in the plate pack.
    This is ensured in that 2 plates are placed loosely one upon the other and a glueless bond established between both in the inlet and outlet areas. The hole
    diameter of the top plate is larger than that of the bottom plate.

    A very small air gap of ambient pressure forms between both plates. If one of the two plates is damaged, the medium emerges from the gap between the plates and will be visible. The leak can be detected immediately. The plates are not welded and therefore can be made of different materials.


  • G-Plate- semi-welded

    For applications for which no suitable seals are available, e.g., high-pressure environments, temperatures or critical media, the semi-welded plate heat exchanger is the perfect solution. These heat exchangers are used, for example, as evaporators and condensers, e.g., refrigerant NH3 or freon, and are an alternative to tubular heat exchangers.
